The Church of Sant Víctor de Seurí, like others in the Pyrenees, exemplifies artistic sensitivity through the centuries. It has been a focal point for its inhabitants and preserves some of the community’s finest memories and experiences.

The challenge has been to enable a small mountain church, through the artistic intervention of Santi Moix, to provide an experience of beauty that stirs our sensitive side.

Nature, landscapes, animals, the sound of the river, starry nights, clouds, summer storms, the reflection of white light on the stone walls, the trickle of water that never ceases, trout… Through art, the power of the exterior enters and transforms the interior of the temple.

The artist has captured the colours of the surroundings, portraying them in his creation, making this space a privileged site for admiration and contemplation, where it seems that matter has vanished, leaving only harmony, colour, light, and mystery.

The church serves as a place of retreat and liturgical celebrations; the art within elevates us towards the transcendent, towards infinite beauty.

Who is Santi Moix?

Born in Barcelona in 1960, Santi Moix spent his childhood summers in Seurí. At 26, he moved to New York, where he settled. A versatile creator, Moix has worked in various disciplines including sculpture, drawing and painting. His work is known for its bold, enigmatic and sometimes unsettling nature, navigating between abstraction and figuration, often focusing on the relationship between humans and nature.
