The fixed orienteering circuit of Sort is a sports facility approved by the Catalan Orienteering Federation. The circuit features 15 checkpoints that can be completed in any order, allowing you to do all of them or just a few. It’s recommended to choose from the three circuits marked on the map based on your technical and physical abilities. The map indicates the three circuits of varying difficulty levels: easy (and shortest), medium and difficult (longest), along with the markers for the checkpoints.

Some tips for using the map
Learn to orient this map
This will allow you to locate yourself and know where you are heading. It is essential to orient the map regularly during your route. The map should rotate in the direction of your progression and not stay in the same position as if you were reading text. For example, if you are moving in a certain direction, you should place the map so that its direction corresponds with the terrain.
To orient it correctly, use terrain features (paths, trails, trees, etc.) as references. Each time you mark the map, pivot it so that the terrain elements match those on the map. This way, the map is correctly oriented to your position and the elements to the right in reality are to the right on the map and so on.
Before setting off
- Examine the map.
- Consult its legend. Locate yourself on the map and orient it.
- Examine where you intend to go and identify the successive elements that will help you plan the route to find the first checkpoint.
- There is almost always more than one path to go from one checkpoint to another and sometimes the quickest paths are not in a straight line.
- Move at a slow pace: it is better to go in the right direction than to run fast but in the wrong direction.
Only those who do not go into the woods never get lost… Enjoy orienteering!
Using the Microsprints app
This permanent circuit is set up for use with your mobile phone through the Microsprints app, available on both Google Play (for Android devices) and the App Store (for iPhone devices). Simply download it and follow the steps provided. It’s very easy!
Choose one of the three proposed circuits (short, medium or long). To do this, scan the QR code and the information for the chosen circuit will load.

- To start, go to the information board of the permanent circuit and scan the QR code START. From there, the timer will begin.
- Head to the checkpoint indicated by the app and each time you arrive, scan the QR code found there.
- At the finish, scan the QR code FINISH found on the information board. This will stop the timer and you can see if you completed all the checkpoints correctly.
- Once the race is finished, you can upload your result to the general ranking and view others’ results on the Microsprints website.
Who will have the fastest time?
Attention
- Please DO NOT step on the fields if they are cultivated.
- Leave the environment as you would like to find it and take your rubbish with you.
- Respect private property and be careful not to break electric fencing.
- From 1 September to 30 May, there may be hunters in some areas of the map. This will likely be signposted, potentially only in Spanish or Catalan. Be cautious!
Getting there
The circuit starts right in front of the sports centre. There is a sign with all the instructions.
